Dear Dennis, Please allow me to start by saying I think your reporting is very fair and balanced. I always look forward to your posts…. If you were the current Press Secretary and you could sit ALL the media in front of you, and your sole purpose was to get them to report fairly and accurately, what would you say to them to unite us rather than make it a point to continually attack the President for nonsense?
DML: Great question. I would not want Spicer’s job. It’s brutal. That said, I would call them out but in a professional way. I would stand up there during the press briefings and politely recite their lies. Example, I would take a copy of the NY TIMES and read a highlighted sentence or two which is blatantly false, or completely biased. I would then calmly explain why it is false. Then I’d call out the Times writer in the press room and ask him or her why the Times is putting out a story with false info and nameless sources. I’d put the pressure back on them during live TV. I’d then explain that we cannot have a strong republic without the American people having access to the truth. That, and they’d never get access to the president again if the false reporting continues.
Good morning Dennis, I wanted to take this moment to share with you how very, very proud I am of our president, Donald Trump. His speech yesterday at the Arab-Islamic American Summit was excellent.
Just because he did not say those words radical Islamic terrorism, for me it did not change the magnitude of his message. He was respectful of his audience and his message rang clear. This morning I was very moved by the presidents visit to the Western Wall. Watching Donald Trump in these couple of days has made me more proud that I voted for him. From, Michelle Royall (OK to use last name)
DML: Great comments, Michelle. I think most Trump supporters agree with your position. We launched a poll today asking people to grade his speech in Saudi Arabia. He’s doing really well. See the results by clicking here.
Will this trip help President Trump when he returns to the U.S.? The Russia stuff is getting so overplayed! Keep up the great work and I really missed you this weekend.
DML: It would help in a normal environment, but the media is relentless — they are anything but normal. That said, perhaps Trump learns some lessons this week about how powerful he is, and how respected he is by the world leaders he meets with. Perhaps he learns the power of not tweeting BS. He can push things back to normal by controlling the narrative.
