Hey DML, It was great seeing you yesterday (walk & talk) , boy I’ve really missed you so glad you are feeling in the pink so to say. My question for you is how long does it take to become a citizen? I’ve seen people say it takes 20 years and that that is part of why Dreamers aren’t becoming citizens . That it takes way to long. Love you, God Bless, see you soon a walk-in and a talking. Sue from NY

DML: The process from start to finish is long, and in some cases, it will take longer than 15 years. The longest part is being on the waiting list. I, for one, have always been an advocate for streamlining the entry process, however, the selection process is what I really want changed. Our current system is based on an immigrant’s relatives. EXAMPLE: Juan from Mexico comes in legally, then he petitions for his key family members. Then, those family members petition for their family members, etc. It’s called chain migration. I am a champion of a skills-based immigration system that takes in 250K people per year versus the 1M per year currently in place. That said, in terms of the Dreamers, I fear Congress will pass the Dream Act in the next 6 months (see our poll from today). When they do, President Trump and Congress will lose the 2020 election.

Hey, Dennis, I took the poll this morning. I say no way does Congress act. They are too afraid of the repercussions, either way. They will waste 6 months pretending and come back with nothing so it falls on Trump’s shoulders!!

DML: Trump tweeted last night that he will address it if Congress does not. I missed that last night — saw it this morning: I am sick to my stomach.

Thank you, DML !! As I was listening to you I was dancing and cheering your WalkNTalk! People need to wake up in this country.  Warmed my heart to hear your take on this extremely important DACA decision!!!  My son is entering the Marines in December and am both proud and scared at the same time. God bless you and your family, God bless President Trump and God bless America!!! This house loves DML !! Lydia from New Jersey

DML: God bless your son. Thank him on my behalf. Keep us informed on how he does.
