FROM ROBERT:
I know your poll this morning is in connection to Sen McCain’s diagnosis of brain cancer, but I don’t think age is the issue. I think it’s term limits. If an 80 year old is fit for office I think that is great! But I’m more concerned about the 80 year old who has spent a lifetime in congress. Lets not forget that a 50 year old can get brain cancer just as easily as an 80 year old.  The focus should be term limits. I want term limits.

DML: I agree. Term limits are in place for a president. They should be in place for all branches of government. On a side note, I’m reading a lot of comments on social media about people not feeling bad about Sen McCain’s diagnosis. I am appalled by such comments. I don’t like most of McCain’s politics, but he is a veteran who honorably served this country, and he is a fellow American. We all have our differences, but when it comes to health and well-being, we should all pull for each other.

FROM JERRI:
I watched the video you posted yesterday showing the two men fighting with a machete and garbage can in the middle of the street. All I could think during the video is how terrible our society is today. Everyone hates everyone. I voted for Trump, but it’s hard not to see how divided we remain. We hated Obama and now they hate Trump. It’s a sad time in the USA. I hope our next president knows how to bring people together.

DML: Although I agree with both of your statements, I am uncertain about how you hook the two together. The two guys in the street were not brawling over politics, and who knows who they voted for — or if they even voted. I will agree, the streets feel less safe today when compared to when I was a kid. However, I don’t blame Trump or Obama.

FROM SEAN:
I know you’ve been getting your dose letters focused on Trump bashing lately but I wanted to send in a nice message about our president. I hope you run it. President Trump has taken huge steps in fixing the V.A. This means a lot to me because my dad is a veteran and he’s been a victim to the terrible conditions of the V.A.  Obama ignored our veterans and lives were lost because of his blind eye. President Trump has taken action to fix the V.A. He isn’t getting everything done to plan as president I know, but he is keeping his promise about the V.A. I think it’s important people recognize this fact.

DML: I agree 100% about Trump’s efforts with the V.A. He has kept to his word, so far, when it comes to the V.A., and it should be noted more often. Thank your dad for his service on my behalf, please.

FROM CONNIE:
Miss your input so much. Hopefully you will be back soon and in good health. A bit lost without your input. Have been following you since the campaign. Lately I find myself losing faith in our President because he cannot control his emotions. Does he not realize he is running our country and not a business? Tweets are bad enough but attacking people he appointed is bothering me. I am the same age as President Trump and have learned over the years to keep my mouth shut. He is falling right into the Democrats, Hillary, & Obama’s scheme of things to come. No one will ever be held accountable for things they have done but President Donald J. Trump. Swamp is too deep! Dennis, get well, come back.

DML: If you think you’re itching for the Walk & Talk to return, you should see me each day as I stare over at the lonely cell phone. Maybe next week we will try again (although I said the same thing last week). In regards to the comment you made about Trump’s emotions, if you’ve watched my Walk & Talk programs in the past, you know my feelings about emotions having no place in politics and business.

The greatest mistakes are made when emotions play a role. That said, the president told the NY Times he would have never hired Jeff Sessions had he known Sessions would recuse himself from the Russia investigation. Allow me to say this without any level of hesitation….

Jeff Sessions is the best hire Trump made in forming his team. The fact that Sessions recused himself speaks volumes about Sessions’ integrity. Sessions did not want to be a liability for Trump, but Trump can’t see that. It also says something about what Sessions may have learned about Trump’s behavior as time went on. To your point, Connie, would you want to be spearheading the investigation not knowing what would pop up next, or what unpredictable tweet would blast out tomorrow? If you go to the DOJ website, you can see all the fantastic things Jeff Sessions has done in the six months he’s been in charge, including the largest healthcare fraud bust in nation’s history.

Furthermore, it is troubling that the president uses the NY Times to blast his own AG? He’ll tweet about the NY Times being fake news 100 times per week, and yet he gives them an interview? And then, in the interview, he blasts one of his own? Sessions should resign.  I know I would.
