DML: I Respond to 4 Interesting Emails You Sent Me

Each day we receive comments from our readers.  Today, I respond to 4 of them.

FROM JANE
Just read where Hungary put up a border wall to stop the flow of immigrants flooding in to their country.  2017 number of immigrants is down by 99% vs. prior year(s), so read the article. Supposedly the Hungarian government is getting slammed by the open borders EU elites. Could DML News research and see if true and if it is, please publish and maybe include in a letter to the President on how effective the Hungarian government is with respect to taking care of their Hungarian citizens first!

DML: When Israel put up their wall, illegal entries reportedly dropped by 99 percent.

FROM JUDITH
Walk & Talks.  I have not been able to get them live on Facebook for quite some time. They will show up later, maybe even the next day. No wonder why they say your #’s are down. Ask if others are having same issue.

DML: My inbox is flooded with messages like yours.  Keep in mind the W&T videos always end up on my website under the W&T tab.  You can also find them on the DML APP.  Typically, we put them up within two hours after being LIVE.  Complain to Facebook — send them a customer service message.  Probably won’t do anything, but you never know.

FROM MAYLENE
DML, I saw this on ABC last night… There is a lady in the hospital right now who has leukemia & is dying. She needs a donor for stem cells that must be 100% match. Her sister lives in Vietnam & is the only one they’ve found. She is willing to come temporarily & donate stem cells to save her sister’s life. Apparently they’ve begged Immigration Dept. but they won’t let her in….I know if you can reach out to Pres. Trump & get the info from ABC , I know he will make it happen. It was on 11:00 news last night.

DML: I am sure the State Department knows about this story.  For whatever reason they will not allow her here, could be more to the story than what you saw on ABC. Either way, at the risk of sounding sarcastic — which is not the intent — they should fly her into Mexico and have her cross the border in Mission, Texas.  It remains wide open.

FROM EMILY
I’m not a regular DML email contributor or Facebook person, etc. — in fact I’ve been living with chronic illness so most of my energy goes in to just keeping body and soul together. (Sadly I don’t have to elaborate on that for you, do I?) Over the last year and a half I would only catch you intermittently; but you are very talented and your work (and family dynamic) left an indelible impression. I just watched your Walk and Talk about your being ‘abandoned’ and left to helplessly fend for yourself, though. It reminded me that (amongst your many other skills and talents) you are something of a comedic genius! In fact you reminded me of the inimitable Jackie Gleason (only in spirit of course – not at all physically!) in his portrayal of Ralph Kramden in The Honeymooners. Please go to You Tube and watch “Mama Loves Mambo” – The Honeymooners, to see what I mean. And when Mary gets back from Girl Scouts wilderness you must also make sure she sees it–because she is a modern version of Alice Kramden as well! The plot is sort of a mashup of your current weekend dilemma and that uproariously funny bit you did with Mary about the flirtatious Fed-Ex guy…

DML: Sorry to hear of your chronic illness.  Having been sick for months and not being able to do a damn thing about it, I have a new appreciation for people who suffer from chronic illnesses.  When “they” say nothing is more important than your health, they ain’t kidding.

As for your kind words about me, thank you.  I think the misery of covering the news gets so heavy at times that I self-cleanse by making joke.  I typically watch back to W&Ts to see how Facebook handles the quality, etc.  I often read some of the comments.  There are times when people actually lash out at me for making jokes instead “reporting the news.”  I feel terrible for people who can’t take a break from the seriousness of it all.  Meanwhile, I made myself laugh on Friday — that was my favorite W&T ever.

As for fending for myself,  Mary just walked in the door after being gone for two days.  I have the house spotless, which scored points.  But then she asked how last night was with my high school buddies.  Suffice to say, I am in the dog house. Why…. Lets just say our favorite restaurant is off limits for a while.  My buddies and I were so loud last night that all the tables around us complained.  The manager had to ask us to tone it down a bit.  Impossible to do with 5 guys from Long Island who are operating under the “influence of fun.”  And no, we didn’t drive.
