DML: I Respond to 5 Interesting Emails You Sent Me

Each day I receive messages from our readers.  Today, I respond to 5 of them.

FROM NANCY
Dennis, I am seriously concerned about where things are heading with Syria. Last time we bombed the airport in Syria it didn’t result in much other than Russia and Iran being upset. I see things spiraling out of control if it happens again.  I took your poll this morning and responded NO we should not intervene in Syria.  However I think we will and it scares me. Please ease my nerves.

DML: There are countless atrocities that take place all around the world every single day.  In Mexico people get murdered at alarming rates by the cartels.  In Turkey, the government continues to arrest, beat, and in some cases kill, people who participated in a coup last summer.  In Muslim countries men and women are beaten and in some cases killed simply because they had premarital sex or wrote something bad about Allah on Facebook.  In regions throughout Africa young women are brutally raped.  In China, young children are forced to work in sweat camps.  If the U.S. were to intervene in every single one of these activities we’d be at war 24/7/365.   That said, I can’t put your mind to ease because the president likes to be unpredictable. So, unless you’re a fly on the wall, there is no way of telling what comes next in Syria.  Although, I would take the warning shot the White House put out last night as real.  I guess the best thing we can hope for is that Assad decides to kick the can down the road.

FROM KATE
The president put out two tweets this morning about CNN and fake news after 3 reporters resigned over a story published that was no true.  I don’t know why he has to tweet about it at all.  It makes him look petty and childish.

DML: Yes, the president did tweet about CNN, and reporters did resign yesterday.  Thank you for sharing your opinion.

FROM CHARLES
DML, although there were people who complained about the DML alerts videos there were many people including myself who really enjoyed them.  Is there a way to do something for us who liked what you started with the videos.

DML: Personally, I found most of the video alerts we were putting out to be boring.  Thus, I have to agree with the majority of people who asked we stop them. One lady wrote, “I can’t take the monotone nature of the videos.  DML, can you please appear in them all and make them more exciting?”  The answer is no, I cannot do 30 videos every day and I can’t make Russia meddling stories exciting.  As I’ve noted countless times, this is all very new to me, and I am trying different things as we go. I’m truly trying my best with limited resources both human and financial. I can’t be in the sound booth, video booth, writer’s seat, editor’s seat, business seat, and behind the camera all at the same time. 🙂

FROM ZAC
DML, I have not seen a Walk & Talk since Thursday of last week am I looking in the wrong place?  I am clicking the Walk & Talk tab but see June 22.  Will you please let me know what is happening wrong and can you please explain the senate health bill and the travel ban ruling today during the Walk & Talk.

DML: Zac, you are doing nothing wrong.  Although the DML website continues to publish news throughout the day, I have not engaged in a WT since Thursday. On Friday afternoon I had some pain that concerned me and have been addressing it since.  There will be no WT today either. I hope to return tomorrow at 4pm.  We’ll see.

FROM WILLIAM
Dennis I like your walk and talks although where I am located I rarely get to see them   what I need to tell you is that your newsfeeds are nothing but regurgitation from the mainstream media, most disappointing.  Let’s get a little more original and edit what you put out,  that is the reason that you have the following that you do.

DML: I just love it when people tell me what I have and why I have it.  So many experts out there one has to wonder why the world isn’t perfect. Actually, my “newsfeeds” are filled with credible news. And yes, most of those stories are probably listed with other news outlets as well because….well…. it’s news. It’s sort of like Fox reporting the same story you can find on CNN, WSJ, or Breitbart. Although we do put out a lot of news faster than these other outlets, and although we do original videos and reports, unfortunately, we don’t have a patent on reporting all the news of the day. So until we get a patent of that sort, here’s an idea… “Let’s” stop complaining?
