President Trump rejected a DACA and immigration reform proposal Thursday from a bipartisan group of 3 Republicans and 3 Democrats, now dubbed the “Gang of Six.”

Instead of eliminating the visa lottery program, as Trump had stipulated, the group discussed protecting immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and African countries as part of the package. The president then lost his patience and uttered the statement that quickly rocked the nation.

Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” Trump reportedly stated, then added, “Why do we need more Haitians? Take them out.”

The “Gang of Six” who reportedly came up with the plan included Sens. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) and Sen. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.).

DML News CEO Dennis Michael Lynch shot out two statements on Twitter to President Trump, in response to the meeting and Trump’s statements:

@realDonaldTrump why u keep giving @nytimes 1on1 interviews only to b destroyed in them is puzzling, why ur working w/lying Dems in OvalOffice to “fix” DACA is troubling, &so the hole of sh*t u stand in was dug by 1 guy, & it aint Obama. Ur lacking good help. May want 2take stock.

@realDonaldTrump mistake isnt saying “shithole,” it’s having the chat w/SenGraham & Dems. Shitholes or not, US takes in too many peep from all over. Cut it down to 100k/yr, & say no to DACA! DACA was made by a guy who tried to transform USA into the shithole his father dreamed of.
