President Trump vowed to build a border wall despite his lack of funding on Tuesday. Unfortunately, he failed to say how the wall will be built without the required funding, but let’s assume money grows on trees. He continues to avoid discussing the other blockade he will face: the environmentalists and lawyers standing at the ready to stop the wall from going up.
But, putting that all to the side, what concerns me more is the next wave of bad information that appears to have found its way into the president’s talking points. Who is feeding this stuff into his head?
In an interview with Fox News, the president said the border wall is important because it will stop human trafficking and drug smuggling. Mr. President, a wall will not stop human trafficking, and it will do very little to stop the drugs coming into the United States.
The cartels in Mexico spearhead both initiatives he is referring to, and a wall will do nothing but send them in another direction. To stop the cartels we must stop the cash flow. If we cut off the money supply, we can win the war on both fronts.
I’ve come to learn that the president prefers the scenic route when learning about the issues and how they can be solved. For example, he is finally understanding that the wall isn’t what stops illegals from coming to America in search of work. It’s the fear of the laws being enforced that keeps them from coming.
Watch the interview below for yourself. And when you do, on a complete side note, ask yourself what happened to Fox News? Why place a former NFL star on a political panel? Heaven help us.
