Doctors found 27 contact lenses in one eye of a British woman who didn’t realize they were there.

A 67-year-old woman went to the doctor for a routine eye surgery when the lenses were found.

As the surgery began, doctors extracted a “blue mass” of 17 contacts all cemented together. As the surgery progressed, another 10 contacts were found, bringing a total of 27 lenses in one eye.

Doctors described the 17 contacts to be one large mass. It’s incredible that the patient had no idea because it would have caused a lot of discomfort while it was sitting there.

The patient had been wearing monthly disposable contacts for 35 years but did not regularly go to the eye doctor. She thought the irritability was because of old age and dry eyes.

The shocking discovery left doctors speechless.
