Dr. Carson Turns Down Trump Cabinet Position; Here’s Why…

Formerly a running contender for President of the United States, acclaimed neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson has turned down an offer to serve in a position for President-Elect Donald Trump ‘s administration. The reason? Some outlets are claiming it’s because he does not have any previous experience running a federal agency.

This answer might leave people scratching their heads, considering only more than half a year ago he was running for office. “The President-elect offered him [Carson] anything he wanted to do,” Armstrong Williams, Carson’s business manager, told media outlets. “But in the end he didn’t want anything.”

Reportedly, the role that was offered to Carson was that of secretary of health and human services. Again, it is strange to read media reports state Carson refused the position because he has no experience in government.  In fact, before he dropped out of the race to endorse Trump, Carson was vocally and abundantly confident he did not need political experience to run the country.

Carson put the following statement on his Facebook page: on Tuesday evening: “My decision not to seek a cabinet position in the Trump administration has nothing to do with the complexity of the job as is being reported by some news outlets. I believe it is vitally important for the Trump administration to have many outspoken friends and advisers who are outside of the Washington bubble. It is vital to have independent voices of reason and reconciliation if our nation is to heal and regain its greatness. I will continue to work with the transition team and beyond as we build a dynamite executive branch of government.”
