Elementary teacher used school funds to buy drugs

With the ravages of methamphetamine and heroin use showing clearly on her face, elementary school teacher Megan Sloan of Supulpa, Oklahoma was arrested on Monday after being outed by her Facebook page as a drug user and thief.

After accidentally leaving her Facebook page open on a school computer, another teacher noticed that Sloan was having a conversation with someone about using and selling heroin.

Police were called to Holmes Park Elementary School, and Sloan, who had worked for the school for the past two years, allegedly admitted that she had pawned two iPads that belonged to the school district and stole approximately $125 from a field trip fund, using it to buy gas and drugs.

A search of her purse turned up drug paraphernalia, including syringes, old spoons and substances that tested positive for meth and heroin.

The teacher was subsequently arrested on embezzlement, three counts of possession of controlled drugs within 1,000 feet of a public institution and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to Sapulpa Public Schools Assistant Superintendent Johnny Bilby, “We are working closely and cooperating with Sapulpa Police to investigate this matter fully and resolve it.”
