EMTs in New Haven, Connecticut, had no choice but to perform an emergency procedure on a patient when a man leading a group of protesters refused to let their ambulance proceed.
Roughly one hundred protesters blocked a New Haven highway Saturday afternoon, causing an ambulance on the road to be stopped and blocked.
That was when EMTs sprung into action to save their critically ill patient by performing an emergency procedure.
The man who led the group blocking the road, Norman Clement, 66, was pepper-sprayed and arrested by police after initially resisting arrest.
Clement now faces numerous charges, including inciting a riot.
Thankfully, it is reported that the patient will recover.
