GREEN MOUNTAIN FALLS, COLORADO has 700 full-time residents.  But for some unknown reason the small police department in the town is no longer operating.  The lights were out in the police station, and the patrol cars remained empty and parked. No one is answering the phone number.  And the former marshal did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The police department only had four employees: a marshal and three deputies. They haven’t spoken out publicly about what made them leave their positions.
