We all know how much President Trump loves Twitter.  But so do his sons.

Using Twitter is the Trump’s greatest weapon when combating the media which is reluctant to put out any good news about the family.

President Trump’s son, Eric Trump, claims that one of his tweets was targeted by Twitter’s initiative to censor “sensitive” content.

On Friday, the second eldest Trump son posted a screenshot of a tweet he posted earlier in the day that read: “Jobs Jobs Jobs!!!”

Within the tweet was a link to a jobs report posted by Drudge Report.

A few hours later, Trump posted a follow-up tweet with a screenshot of a gray box covering his previous tweet that displayed the following warning message: “This tweet is not available because it includes potentially sensitive content.”

After this discovery, he posed a question on Twitter asking why his tweet had been censored: “Why are my tweets about jobs and the economy being censored? #Interesting”

In March, Twitter announced that it had launched new features  aimed at reducing abusive posts on its site by marking certain user accounts as “sensitive” if they are likely to post offensive or graphic material.

We’re continuing our work to make Twitter safer, moving faster than ever to do so. During the past few weeks alone, we’ve made a number of changes on this front including updating how you can report abusive Tweets, stopping the creation of new abusive accounts, implementing safer search results, collapsing abusive or low-quality Tweets, and reducing notifications from conversations started by people you’ve blocked or muted.

We’re working to identify accounts as they’re engaging in abusive behavior, even if this behavior hasn’t been reported to us. Then, we’re taking action by limiting certain account functionality for a set amount of time, such as allowing only their followers to see their Tweets.

An issue arising from these changes is that accounts expressing right- or left-wing ideologies are often flagged as “sensitive,” which has stirred outrage among many Twitter users after being censored for expressing their beliefs while others are left mystified as to why their accounts have been wrongly hidden from view.

One user vented his frustration on Twitter after his account was targeted for containing “sensitive” content:

The social media site has admitted that some of its new implementations are not without faults as they still working through the kinks.

We’re learning a lot as we continue our work to make Twitter safer – not just from the changes we ship but also from the mistakes we make, and of course, from feedback you share.

The Hill reports that Twitter has not commented on the incident, as of Friday evening.
