EU top official ignites feud with Trump

The President of the European Commission warned President Trump to cease his anti-European rhetoric or risk starting a war.

Following Trump’s praise of Brexit, in which the United Kingdom will separate from the European Union (EU), Jean-Claude Juncker insisted that the United States government be careful with its words.

While speaking with Vice President Mike Pence, Juncker demanded, “Do not say that. Do not invite others to leave, because if the European Union collapses, you will have a new war in the western Balkans!”

“If we leave them alone — Bosnia-Herzegovina, Republika Srpska, Macedonia, Albania, all those countries — we will have war again.”

Juncker, who has previously called Brexit a “failure and a tragedy,” attacked Trump by lambasting him for encouraging other countries to emulate Brexit.

In an interview with Financial Times, Juncker also called Trump’s enthusiasm for Britain’s exit from the EU “annoying.”

Junker claimed that Trump’s views demonstrated his lack of awareness about the complicated history of Europe.
