Evan McMullin Goes on Tirade Against Trump’s Sec. of State Pick

Former Independent presidential candidate and #NeverTrump-er Evan McMullin engaged in a tirade against President-elect Donald Trump Saturday, implicating him of not being a “loyal American.”

McMullin, a previous CIA operative and House GOP aide, took his tirade to Twitter after NBC News reported Saturday that Trump was nominating Exxon Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson to be his Secretary of State.

“It must be clear that Donald Trump is not a loyal American and we should plan for the next four years accordingly,” he included.

Arizona Sen. John McCain (R) was likewise forthright in his oppositions on Saturday, stating he’s worried about Tillerson’s ties to Putin and Russia.

Tillerson’s connections to Russian President Vladimir Putin ended up being the prime focus of conversation Saturday after NBC reported he was the top prospect for leading U.S. international mediations under Trump.

Tillerson’s connection with Putin, as well as Russia, originate from his time living in the country as Exxon’s representative to Russian oil companies and the Kremlin. It is reported he organized a deal with Russia in 2011 that permitted Exxon to have accessibility to oil reserves in the Arctic.
