In October of 2010, Dennis Michael Lynch, now CEO of DML News, said he was just another person with his “head in the sand.” Then one day, he stopped to talk to the man he kept seeing standing on the street corner near the local 7-Eleven, waving an American flag. The man was Tom, and the visit would change DML’s life forever. DML has shared the story of how it all began as follows:
I’m stuck at a red light outside a 7-ELEVEN in Southampton, NY. An army of undocumented men stand on the corner in search of work. Across from them is a small, middle-aged man waving an American flag and a home-made sign that reads, “Deport Illegals”.
Tom Wedell, is an out-of-work roofer. He has stood by himself in the same spot every morning for the past five-years protesting against illegal immigration. Every day for years I passed by Tom but never paid much notice. Then one day something happened different. As I sat idle at the light, my radio starts playing the Neal Diamond song, ‘America’. Somehow the lyrics force me to view the situation differently. I pull over and rip out my camera. A half-hour later I’m 30-minutes into a new film called, THEY COME TO AMERICA.
It wasn’t until after my brief encounter with Tom that I decided it was time to use my camera for more important reasons. What led me to such a decision was Tom’s comment, “We have boys and girls dying for us over in Iraq, and this is how we thank them, by giving away our jobs, and our citizenship, like it all comes out of a Cracker Jacks box?”
My father is a 1-9 Marine, and I know the impact war and serving his country had on him, and our family. But as I got older I sort of brushed it all away — it’s easier to forget and ignore. Then Tom’s words challenged me to wake and care more about America, and the people who give so much so that I can live a great life.
Now, nearly 8 years later, DML has produced not one, but three documentary films on illegal immigration, and will soon be releasing a fourth. The first three films, titled, “They Come to America I, II, and III,” show you the border and the costs of illegal immigration in a way you’ve never seen before, and are now packaged into one complete DVD case, called the “TRILOGY.”
Why doesn’t he stop? Because America’s borders are still not secure, with tens of thousands of illegal aliens continuing to pour into the country each month, and DML is determined to keep pushing out the TRUTH on the costs and consequences of illegal immigration in America.

Patricia Ann: I ordered all 5 DVD’s last year and watched them. Well worth the money. I gave my Mom in Arizona, the Coming to America 1,2, & 3 after having her watch them, so she can share with her Friends. I ordered the Trilogy, buy one get one, this year, and am in the process of giving one away. Everyone needs to see these eye opening films!! Thank you DML. Can’t wait for #4!
Joe: Just watched Trilogy set, We Ride to DC, and Bundy. Your films are the best documentaries I have ever seen and I want you to make more films. What a talented filmmaker you are Mr DML. Your work needs to be out there in much greater numbers.
Pamela: I finally got a chance to watch the Trilogy over the weekend. WOW! Is the first word that came to mind after watching…absolutely blown away. These films were fantastic and as I was watching I was thinking…”why weren’t they at every film festival and theater across the country?” Of course I know the answer (I’m from NY :)) but, you deserve a lot more recognition as a filmmaker.
