Rep. Ilhan Omar (D) who settled in Minnesota after coming to the United States as a Somalian refugee, taunted President Trump on Monday over his visit to her state.

The president flew to Minnesota to participate in a roundtable discussion on tax cuts and the economy at a truck and equipment company in Burnsville on Monday. Prior to departing from Washington, D.C., President Trump tweeted, “Heading to the Great State of Minnesota!”

Omar mockingly tweeted in response, “The Great State of Minnesota, where we don’t only welcome immigrants, we send them to Washington.”

Omar has recently taken tremendous backlash over her comments about the 9/11 terror attack, in which she referred to it as “some people did something.”

However, Democrats jumped to her defense when President Trump called her out by tweeting a video that intertwined her remarks with scenes from the 9/11 attack. After she claimed her life was in danger, and blamed the president’s tweet for death threats against her, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asked Capitol Police to ramp up security to protect her.

Before departing for Minnesota, President Trump ramped up his criticism with a new tweet, in which he stated:

Before Nancy, who has lost all control of Congress and is getting nothing done, decides to defend her leader, Rep. Omar, she should look at the anti-Semitic, anti-Israel and ungrateful U.S. HATE statements Omar has made. She is out of control, except for her control of Nancy!

  1. The brazen, arrogant and disrespectful Omar serves to prove it is diversity that divides, not strengthens, us and she certainly confirms the fact we must be more selective in the caliber of refugees/immigrants we allow to enter and reside in our country.

  2. I couldn’t agree more Kathleen03. Diversity is not our strength, and certainly not something we should strive to achieve, particularly in this era of identity politics. Diversity is a notion that careerist politicians exploit, much to the detriment of the United States. Historically, diverse populations have always posed a a problem unless assimilation occurs. Omar illustrates the point.

  3. Of course Ilian didn’t have anything to do with the threats against her, said with a heavy dose of sarcasm. She keeps showing her radical Islamic side so small wonder she is receiving death threats. But she is lucky that she isn’t an American living in any Islamic country. She most likely would have been stoned to death, if not decapitated.
