The estimated 2.4 million illegal aliens residing in California can vote without worrying about verification because the requirement doesn’t exist.
The manager of the Election Law Reform Initiative, Hans von Spakovsky, states, “If you are talking about California, the state is apparently relying on the illegal alien to tell the state they shouldn’t be registered. There is still an honor system.”
Spakovsky, who is also a senior legal fellow at the Institute of Constitutional Government at the Heritage Foundation, has suggested that California’s voter registration lacks integrity and oversight.
Authorities told Fox News, “California’s voter registration system is ‘highly susceptible to being compromised,’ because of immigration policies protecting the Golden State’s 2.4 million illegal immigrants.”
According to Spakovsky, unless an illegal alien tells the state they are not eligible to vote, they can vote.

Charles Bell Jr., an attorney with California-based Bell, McAndrews& Hiltachk, LLP, a law firm whose main practice is election law, describes the problem with the California voter system as one which has “no separate verification of citizenship on voter registration.”
Presently, voters check a box stating that they are citizens but this information is never cross checked by any federal agency, including immigration.
Bell Jr. said, “We have an honor system, which is effective for people who are honorable, but is also an opportunity for people who are not honorable. There is a gap in the system, and we don’t have administrative folks who will be aggressive about looking into that.”
Another problem with the California voting system is that California gives driver’s licenses to illegals and, since the enactment of the AB-60 law in 2015, this allows illegals to be registered to vote under the “federal motor-voter” law. As of now, there are over 806,000 illegals with driver’s licenses in California.
A California secretary of state spokesman argued that AB-60 license applicants are not given voter registration opportunities at the DMV and that “there is no driver’s license required to register to vote, and there are stiff penalties for illegally voting.”
A former ICE agent, Claude Arnold, who worked in Southern California, Nevada, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota, stated he has witnessed the voter fraud problem when arresting illegals over the course of his career.
“Throughout my 27-year career with and ICE, I arrested hundreds of illegal criminal aliens who had voter registration cards,” Arnold said. “They would often admit they voted, but they were rarely prosecuted for illegally voting.”
Arnold said that all but one of the hundreds of illegals with voter registration cards were registered as Democrats.
