Failed show host Megyn Kelly being described as ‘diva-like’ at NBC

It was slated for ten episodes, but due to terrible ratings, NBC host Megyn Kelly’s Sunday show was recently pulled after just eight programs.  With that behind them, the network is looking for her morning show to salvage the investment made in the former Fox News anchor. It may be a more daunting task than they realize, as reports are now surfacing about potential static between Kelly and her TODAY show co-stars.

Word is that Kelly’s morning co-stars aren’t thrilled about the “diva treatment” Kelly has been given.

The co-stars are said to be puzzled about why the network keeps throwing money at Kelly after a report in the New York Post claims that NBC is “sparing no expense” on her.

During her first two months at the network, Kelly hasn’t done much to earn the special treatment. Her show, “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly,” was destroyed in the ratings by reruns of shows like “60 Minutes,” and “America’s Funniest Home Videos.”

CEO of DML NEWS, Dennis Michael Lynch, used to be a frequent guest on Kelly’s show when it aired on Fox News.  He said of the situation, “Megyn made some bad moves at NBC. Putting on the interview with Alex Jones was a major blunder. She tried taking information that would possibly fly well over at Fox News and place it on mainstream TV. Viewers see that sort of thing and ask themselves why tune in? Her morning show will most likely bomb as well.”

To add injury to insult, according to Nielsen ratings, once NBC pulled Kelly’s show on Sunday night, viewers returned to the network to watch a rerun of Dateline playing in the time slot Kelly left vacant.

NBC tried masking over the fact that they had no other choice but to cut Kelly from the Sunday night lineup by saying the cancellation was so she could focus on her new morning show, “Megyn Kelly Today,” which is set for September.

Now, as Breitbart News aptly stated, “Kelly needs to do all she can to not ruin NBC’s crown jewel Today franchise.” Yet as she prepares for “Megyn Kelly Today,” Kelly is reportedly upsetting her colleagues.

Breitbart reports:

“While on her five-day tour of affiliate stations to minimize the potential damage she will do to the Today show franchise, Kelly is reportedly flying and living the high life ‘on a charter jet with a support staff of five or six people, including a hairstylist, a makeup artist, a publicist and a security detail.’ “

According to Page Six, an NBC source complained, “People are outraged over her diva-like ways. They wonder, ‘When does NBC stop throwing money at her?’ ”

Dennis Michael Lynch said when he was on Fox News as a guest, people quietly complained about Megyn constantly. “She’s a nice person, but they all kissed her tush, and that turned a lot of people off.  If I told someone in the make-up room that I was doing Megyn’s show tomorrow, or that I did it the night before, they’d roll their eyes,” said DML.

NBC left open the idea that Kelly’s Sunday news magazine show could return after the NFL football season is complete. But insiders say it all depends on how her morning show does.
