FBI Actively Pursued for a Clinton Foundation Investigation

In a new report by The Washington Post, the FBI actively pushed for the Clinton Foundation to be investigated over allegations it gave favors and special access to donors. The FBI’s New York field office was digging into possible illegal ties and deals, including corruption and conflict of interest associated with the foundation.

However, Loretta Lynch jumped in, and her Justice Department claimed the FBI agents did not have enough evidence to move the case forward, so the FBI hit the brakes.

The Clinton Foundation claims they were never contacted by the FBI. “We are not aware of any investigation into the Foundation by the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation, or any United States Attorney’s Office and we have not received a subpoena from any of those agencies,” a Clinton official told the Post.

Throughout the Democratic nominee’s presidential campaign trail, controversies over possible illegal donations have plagued the Clinton campaign and its attached organization, the Clinton Foundation. Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has attacked and accused Clinton of pay-to-play schemes and scandals involving donors to the Clinton Foundation following email releases from WikiLeaks.

More so, an investigation into the Clinton Foundation may sprout after the recent announcement by FBI Director James Comey was made stating the agency was launching a second investigation into Clinton and her emails.

Perhaps the FBI’s probe is what led Bill Clinton to meet with Lynch on the tarmac in AZ?
