FedEx has joined efforts with the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation to provide service members and their families a Christmas tree for the holidays.
This is a tradition the shipping company has taken part in every year since the programs fruition in 2005, marking the 12th anniversary of the generous program.
Since then, FedEx has shipped more than 176,000 real Christmas trees to service members and their families—covering every branch of the military at close to 65 bases in 17 countries.
Executive Director of Christmas SPIRIT Foundation, Ann O’Connor, said, “We have had an amazing year with Trees for Troops! This program is a huge highlight each year with the Christmas tree growers who are able to donate Christmas trees from their farms.”
The program has been successful each year due to the generosity of tree farmers across North America, as they have donated more than 18,000 real Christmas trees. The trees will be donated to roughly 65 military bases in the coming week.
