As Gatlinburg, Tennessee burns to the ground, reports are coming in on Twitter that people were not warned that the fire was so close, barely leaving them time to flee to safety.

In an emotional interview with a man who barely escaped, he said they were not told of the danger of the fire.

Michael Luciano, whose frightening video documented his narrow escape, says as he finally arrives to safety, that they weren’t given any warning on the news.

Guests are trapped at a Hilton hotel as the fire burns around them:

In a telephone interview with Logan Baker, a guest at the Park Vista Hotel, he said the fire came up so quickly, it was too late for the guests to evacuate. The guests were trapped inside as the fire burned around them and the building filled with smoke.
