Since President Donald Trump took the oath of office yesterday, the first two White House petitions have hit the website.

A short time later, several new petitions were published on the White House website.

The first petition, which was created by “A.D.,” calls for President Trump to release his tax returns.

The We The People petition has already received over 146,000 signatures, well over the 100,000 required by February 19th for the White House to review it.

“The unprecedented economic conflicts of this administration need to be visible to the American people, including any pertinent documentation which can reveal the foreign influences and financial interests which may put Donald Trump in conflict with the emoluments clause of the Constitution,” the petition reads.

Trump is the first president in several decades to not release his returns.  and controversy has swirled around what the documents contain.

A second petition calls for President Trump to “divest or put in a blind trust all of the president’s business and financial assets.”

According to ABC News, experts have claimed that if President Trump does not sufficiently separate himself from his businesses, he may be in violation of the emoluments clause of the Constitution.

However, Trump’s lawyer, Sheri Dillon, advised that the President is not required to address his businesses as he has signed an agreement to “completely isolate [him] from the management of the company.”

The petition, created by “H.B.,” has received over 42,000 signatures of the 100,000 needed by the February 19th deadline.

Another petition is already calling for President Trump to resign.  It already has just over 1,000 signatures.
