Flash Flooding Devastates Popular Kansas City District

Part of the heart of Kansas City suddenly came under emergency flooding chaos Friday night, completely submerging cars in some areas.

Streetcar service was suspended from 9:15 to 10:30 because of the flooding, and the Westport district looked like a nightmare, with water up to the windows on vehicles in a crowded parking lot.   KMBC TV reported that Brush Creek rose more than 10 feet between 9:15 to 10:15 pm.
