One man is in critical condition and a woman is in stable condition after both suffered bullet wounds while outside the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach late Sunday night. Police are searching for the gunman.
Authorities report that the two unidentified victims were taken into the hotel, where their injuries were noted and assistance provided. They were later transferred to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment of several bullet wounds.
The suspect, who fled the scene on foot, has not been identified.
“We are in the infancy stages of the investigation and we are asking for the community’s help,” said Ernesto Rodriguez, spokesman for the Miami Beach police .
Police closed of the hotel lobby and nearby roadways throughout the evening while they investigated.
“Our detectives are trying to piece together what led to this unfortunate incident,” Rodriguez said.
