FLORIDA — A 12-year-old girl in Orlando was apparently allowed to turn on the ignition of her family’s Chevrolet SUV while they were preparing to go on an outing. According to police, the car somehow shifted into gear and rolled down the driveway, hitting her little brother who was just two-years-old.
A “very chaotic and emotional scene” ensued as neighbors ran over to help, said Sergeant Kim Montes of Florida Highway Patrol. According to a state trooper at the scene, an investigation into the accident has been launched, but no criminal charges are being filed.
The little boy was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
