Opposition to Target’s bathroom and fitting room policy is still growing – and it’s getting creative.
Target CEO Brian Cornell is still insisting the retail giant has made the right decision with their new “inclusive” policy of allowing customers to use the facilities that match their gender “identity”, but over 1.2 million people have pledged to boycott the store.
Now a large delivery truck, wrapped in a huge anti-Target campaign will be travelling all across the state of Minnesota, stopping at each of the 75 Target stores in the state, in the hopes that the message will draw enough additional criticism to force Target to reverse the new policy.
In speaking with CNBC last week, Cornell compared the new policy to a time back in the 1960s when it was one of the first to include African American models in store advertising.
“We want to make sure we provide a welcoming environment for all of our guests, one that is safe and one that’s comfortable and that’s our commitment over time,” Cornell said.
