Former assistant principal, turned stripper, kills Texas police officer

TEXAS — An exotic dancer has been sentenced to 32 years in prison for killing a Pearland police officer while she was driving drunk after leaving work last year.

Amber Willemsen, 40, was found guilty of intoxication manslaughter in connection with Officer Endy Ekpanya’s death.

Willemsen, a former assistant principal turned stripper, was out on bond for possession of methamphetamine at the time of the crash in June 2016.

Willemsen was driving on the wrong side of a road when she crashed head-on with Officer Ekpanya’s patrol car in Pearland, south of Houston. Her blood alcohol content was more than twice the Texas legal limit of 0.08.

Police records show that in 2014, she completed two years’ probation for another drunken driving incident.

Officer Ekpanya had to be extracted from his vehicle after the collision and died on the way to the hospital. He left behind a 2-year-old son and a wife.
