Former President George H.W. Bush was hospitalized in Houston, Texas on Saturday.

Bush’s chief of staff, Jim McGrath, announced Wednesday that he was taken to the hospital Saturday for shortness of breath.

McGrath posted a later update Wednesday, stating that Bush was transferred to ICU on Wednesday, for an “acute respiratory problem stemming from pneumonia.”

Bush will not be attending the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump this Friday. His staff have cited reasons of health issues. His son and former president, George W. Bush, will reportedly be attending the event.
