In a Monday appearance on CNN’s “New Day,” a former campaign adviser to President Donald Trump said it was a “mistake” to let Michael Wolff, author of the controversial book “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” into the West Wing.
During the interview with Michael Caputo, CNN host Chris Cuomo asked the former Trump campaign adviser if he wanted the president to spend his time “defending himself against ghosts of the past.”
“Yes,” Caputo replied. “I’m tired of Republicans rolling over and taking a beating from Democrats like the author of this book who is lying through his teeth about what the people in the White House are thinking and the doubts they have about their own president. This book is trash.”
“How do you know he’s lying?” Cuomo asked. “… you guys let him in, Michael. You guys opened the door.”
Cupoto acknowledged, “That was a mistake.”
“You said ‘come on in.’ And you gave him tons of access, including the president, who spoke to him about the book, so shame on you.” Cuomo said.
Trump has denied being interviewed by Wolff for the book, tweeting that the book was “full of lies, misrepresentations and sources that don’t exist.” The president has also said that Wolff was never in the Oval Office.

I authorized Zero access to White House (actually turned him down many times) for author of phony book! I never spoke to him for book. Full of lies, misrepresentations and sources that don’t exist. Look at this guy’s past and watch what happens to him and Sloppy Steve!
