Four people, including one police officer, were killed after one shooter terrorized three Wisconsin towns Wednesday.
After a standoff, the shooter was taken into custody by a SWAT team, according to news reports.
Questions remain following press conferences with Marathon County police, and names of those killed have not yet been released.
“Just before 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a ‘domestic situation’ at Marathon Savings Bank, and then about 30 minutes later, they returned to the bank to find two people shot. The suspect had since fled the scene,” WAOW reported.
The suspect was taken into custody several hours later.
According to reports, the suspect fired at a Schofield law office before traveling about five miles to Aspen Street Apartments in Weston. “It was about 1:30 p.m. when the apartment complex became the focus of most of the day’s police activity, including the use of bomb-detecting robots and the standoff with SWAT officers.”
Schools and a hospital went on lockdown in response to the situation, with gunshots heard just before 5 p.m. taking place during the standoff, said reporters.
