During his broadcast on Wednesday evening, Fox News host Bret Baier addressed the departure of the network’s number one personality, Bill O’Reilly. Baier hit the topic by saying some major changes were being made in the primetime lineup. Then Baier introduced Fox News host and media analyst, Howard Kurtz to give the details surrounding O’Reilly’s departure.
According to Kurtz, O’Reilly has agreed to leave the network effective immediately, and his 8pmET slot will be filled by Tucker Carlson, who currently hosts the 9pmET program.
Kurtz explained that allegations of sexual harassment in the workplace is what led to the departure of O’Reilly, who reportedly paid out $13,000,000 in settlements to numerous women who made the claims against him. He said that O’Reilly denies the claims made against him.
In the video clip below, Kurtz provides all the details you’ll want to know, and referrs to O’Reilly as “sometimes combative and confrontational.”
