Let me start by saying that FOX News host Neil Cavuto plays handball at the curb. He is such a lowlife.
Second, let me say, President Trump avoids Cavuto’s show. His dislike of Cavuto dates way back — long before he was elected president. Trump will not appear as a guest on ‘Your World with Neil Cavuto.”
Cavuto has tried pretending Trump’s ban is no big deal, and last week, the host put out a statement saying he doesn’t want to interview the president because it really doesn’t accomplish much. Yeah right, and Cavuto has some snake oil to sell you, too.
Over the weekend, Cavuto ripped into Trump after he tweeted about the father of a college basketball player, and then launched another tweet about a Republican senator.
On Saturday, Trump said he should have left three UCLA basketball players “in jail” in China after LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo Ball, refused to thank the president for his son’s release.
The students were arrested earlier this month after shoplifting sunglasses in Shanghai. Trump claimed he personally asked Chinese President Xi Jinping for his help in releasing them.
In his next tweet, Trump poked fun at Sen. Jeff Flake after he was caught on an open mic, saying “bad things about your favorite President.”
During a three-minute monologue, Cavuto said Trump’s remarks “don’t even border on being human.”
Accusing him of using a “bazooka to respond to a peashooter,” Cavuto said the president wanted to see “gratitude bordering on groveling.”
“Pick your fights because neither of these scenes is worth the fuss,” he added. “You wanted a thank you, you got it. You wanted a reason to go after a senator you hate, you pounced on it. But last time I checked, you are the president of the United States. Why don’t you act like it?”
Let me share with you a short story that shines a light on the sort of person Cavuto really is.
Five years ago, I made a film called “They Come to America: The cost of illegal immigration.” Cavuto put me on his show to promote the film after he received a request to do so by my co-producer, John Roland. Roland spent 30 years at FOX New York and is considered a legend by all at FOX.
When the interview was complete, Cavuto said to me, “You are great!” Then, he spoke into his headset: “Make sure we invite him back soon.”
The following year, I made another film, “They Come to America II: The cost of amnesty.”
To help with the promotion of this film, we hired a big-name PR firm out of Washington D.C. When we hired them, I said, “Make Cavuto your first call — he will put me on-air in a heartbeat.”
Two months passed, I was booked on most every FOX News show except for Cavuto’s. When I pressed inquiries as to why this was the case, the PR firm wouldn’t give me a straight answer.
I asked Roland to reach out to Cavuto and ask why I was being pushed off. Roland received a call from Cavuto’s producer. She said, “Neil will not book DML because you guys hired _________ (the PR firm). Neil has a rule that we don’t book anyone they pitch to us.” Roland responded by asking if that was fair to us? We had no idea Cavuto had a problem with our PR firm.
Apparently, the PR firm had canceled an interview Cavuto had with a conservative author on the same day she was booked to go on his show. Cavuto didn’t like this and made the vow to reject all their clients.
When I heard this, I was not mad at Neil. I was mad at my PR firm for not sharing the information with me.
Roland and I decided to contact Cavuto directly. We had three weeks left with our PR firm, and we were willing to fire them for lying to us. We told this to him and asked if it would change matters. During a phone call with his executive producer, I was told that it would help.
Two minutes later, I fired my PR firm for lying to me. I sent a copy of the letter to Cavuto.
He screwed us. He didn’t return our calls or our emails, and we were never invited back. Roland tried calling Cavuto and got nowhere.
So, in short, the spiteful little man stuck it to the PR firm twice — using us as a pawn.
Cavuto is a lowlife. Trump reads right through him.
