The list of left leaners distancing themselves from comedian Kathy Griffin after the disastrous reception of her photo with the fake severed head of President Trump continues to grow as Sen. Al Franken (D) from Minnesota cancels an event with Griffin they had scheduled for July.
Franken had originally deplored the photo and said he would keep the event but the pressure of public opinion has become too great to hold the event, which regards a promotion of his new book alongside Griffin.
“After hearing from many Minnesotans who were rightfully offended, I’ve come to the conclusion that it would be best for her not to participate in the event we had previously scheduled. I understand why Minnesotans were upset by this, and I take that very seriously.”
Griffin has since apologized for the photo but it hasn’t bought back much of the goodwill she held with the elite left as Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) also announced plans this week to donate the $1,000 received from Griffin to charity.
