While speaking with reporters at the Pentagon on Friday, Secretary of Defense James Mattis added another classic quote to a long list of no-nonsense gems he has uttered on and off the battlefield.
When asked to identify his biggest military concern of 2018, Mattis replied, “I don’t have concerns. I create them.”

Mattis was also asked if he would read the controversial new book, “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.”
According to the Washington Examiner, Mattis said that he was too preoccupied with his position at the Pentagon to read a book.
“No, I’m a little busy, these days, actually doing my job, you know?” Mattis said.
Mattis is also known for his blunt answer given in response to the question, “What keeps you awake at night?” asked in May 2017 by John Dickerson on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”
“Nothing,” Mattis replied. “I keep other people awake at night.”
And another Mattis classic, “Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.”
