Gingrich calls for AG Sessions to ‘do his job,’ start investigating Clinton/FBI/DOJ

In light of recently released documents that show how former FBI director James Comey’s original statement against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was severely watered down, former Speaker of the House and Fox News political contributor Newt Gingrich said on air this week that “Mueller is corrupt. The senior FBI is corrupt.”

He also called for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to “step up to the plate and do his job” hours after news broke of the Comey edits. “He has no excuse, as somebody who I know believes in the law … He has to set up a Clinton investigation [and] an FBI/Justice Dept investigation,” said Gingrich, as quoted by Fox News.

Gingrich went on to say this regarding Comey’s draft statement about the FBI’s investigation of Hillary Clinton’s emails: “I think AG Sessions has an absolute obligation to look at this information, & begin to think about how they’re going to prosecute Comey… and all these other senior FBI agents…

Gingrich’s latest comments come just one day after the news broke about Comey’s altered statements. The day before that, he tweeted out a message, observing, “The imbalance in the Justice Department’s entire process between the Clinton investigation and the way they’ve gone after the President is staggeringly corrupt.”
