Gingrich: Obama needs to testify under oath

News reports that President Barack Obama knew about Russian hacking even before the 2016 election took place has prompted former House Speaker Newt Gingrich to state, “The Congress is about to have to call Barack Obama in to testify under oath about when he knew about Russia meddling.”

Gingrich told Sean Hannity on “Fox and Friends” Tuesday that Congressional leaders are now compelled to summon the former president “to explain what he was doing and why he was doing it. They should build the case from the ground up.”

Calling it an “extraordinary failure of national security,” Gingrich marveled at the way the Russian investigation is turning out to be about Obama; not Trump. “How can you be told the president of the U.S. knew last August the Russians were, in fact, involved in this and not ask him and ask him under oath? I mean, how can you be so irresponsible?” he wondered.

“The House and Senate are going to have to call Obama in and say, ‘Who told you?’ ‘When did you have the meetings?’ ‘Who advised you?’ ‘Why did you not decide to do anything?’” he stated, adding that they should also ask Obama, “Why did you keep quiet for six months while everybody looked at the Russians and Trump when you, in fact, had this information last August?’”

On Monday, Trump crowed on Twitter that it now appears that Obama “colluded or obstructed” with Russia, because he “did not want to ‘rock the boat'” thinking that Clinton was on a sure path to victory. Along with news that CNN has vigorously pursued the false narrative that Trump colluded with Russia to throw the 2016 election in his favor, our Mr. President is being vindicated all over the place as he drains the steaming swamp in Washington and Makes America Great Again.
