A 12-year-old Colorado girl water skiing on a New Hampshire lake was run over and killed by a powerboat operated by her father.
Zoe Anderson fell while waterskiing on Newfound Lake. Her father, Sherwood Anderson, drove the towing boat back toward his daughter but became briefly distracted when his hat was blown off his head.
What started off as a beautiful morning on the lake instantly turned to disaster when Anderson placed the boat in neutral as it passed over the top of Zoe at a slow speed.
Despite the slow speed, Zoe suffered serious injuries to her torso. When discovered, she was immediately brought to shore where CPR was performed. Tragically, she could not be revived and died at the scene.
Sherwood Anderson’s wife and another daughter were also aboard the boat.
