Lloyd Blankfein, the CEO of mega-bank Goldman Sachs, publicly revealed that his company does not endorse nor condone President Trump’s executive order to ban refugee immigration into the United States.
According to Reuters, Blankfein and Goldman Sachs officials are working to counter the potential disruptions and effects Trump’s order will have on employees and their families.
Blankfein sent out the following voicemail to employees on Sunday:
“This is not a policy we support, and I would note that it has already been challenged in federal court, and some of the order has been enjoined at least temporarily.”
Other company giants such as Apple, Google, and Facebook have publicly stated their opposition to Trump’s order.
However, a large number of companies have not released their own statements of opinion on Trump’s executive order. In fact, most companies, when reached for comment by media outlets, have declined to offer any semblance of approval or disapproval.
