Good Samaritan Shot and Killed Thwarting Robbery

Two armed robbers were in the process of sticking up a Kay Jewelers in Texas when a Good Samaritan attempted to stop them but was shot and killed.

The robbery occurred at about 3:30 pm on Sunday at the Rolling Oaks Mall in San Antonio, Texas. After the victim was shot, a second man pulled out his licensed concealed weapon and shot one of the suspects. The second suspect fled the scene through the mall.  He shot at people as he ran away — hitting at least six other victims whose conditions are unknown.   The shooter escaped and remains at large.

San Antonio Police Chief Willaim McManus said at a press conference, “It’s absolutely senseless. Absolutely senseless. This is the second time that a Good Samaritan was killed trying to intervene in a crime to help the victim. It’s absolutely senseless.”

The shooting suspect was transported to San Antonio Medical Center in critical condition.  Two shooting victims were also transported to SAMC.  A woman suffered a heart attack at the scene and another lady went into labor.

The FBI was on the scene to assist in the manhunt.
