After a massive brawl (watch here) broke out on Tuesday between Turkish guards and protesters in Washington D.C., Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.) was outraged, and told the press, “I’d throw the Turkish ambassador out.”
The brawl resulted in nine people being injured and two were arrested. It all started when Turkish guards began attacking protesters in front of the Turkey ambassador’s residence. Condemning the violence, McCain slammed Turkish authorities on Twitter, calling their actions “thuggish”.
“This is the United States of America. We do not do this here. There is no excuse for this kind of thuggish behavior,” he tweeted. The Secret Service announced Wednesday that it is investigating the brutal attack on peaceful protesters.
