When Oklahoma’s Senator James Lankford (R) was asked at a town hall Tuesday night whether or not President Trump should release his tax returns, his answer was yes.
“Trump promised he would,” answered Lankford. “He should keep his promise.”
Tax Day has reignited the fervor of those on the Left who believe that the president’s tax returns need to be released.
Last Saturday, tens of thousands of protesters staged “tax marches” around the country, demanding that Trump releases his tax returns.
Early in the presidential election, Trump said that he would release his returns, but he claimed that an audit has prevented him from releasing the documents to the public.
However, earlier this week DML ran a poll asking readers if they want the president to release his returns. The poll is the most popular poll we have every run, being shared nearly 100,000 times in just a few days. You can take the poll by clicking here. As of now, more than 92% say they do not need to see the president’s returns.
