Gossip columnist, and Trump friend, Liz Smith dies

President Trump’s friend, and legendary gossip columnist Liz Smith, has died at the age of 94.

Smith, who operated out of New York City,  was the person who broke the news of Donald Trump’s divorce from his first wife Ivana.

 

Her column, “Liz Smith,” ran in newspapers like The New York Daily News, Newsday and the New York Post before she began posting columns online for the New York Social Diary.

Smith became of the highest-paid gossip columnists in New York, earning more than $1 million a year, The New York Times reported.
