Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey was booed at a Mets game Tuesday night after catching a foul ball at Citi Field Stadium. Initially, people cheered at the impressive catch, but the positive appraisals soon turned into yelling and booing once they realized it was Christie.

In fact, even despite Christie giving the caught ball as a souvenir to a kid, the fans in the stands began condemning the governor over the recent beach scandal.

The catch happened during the third inning of the game. St. Louis Cardinals Paul DeJong hit a high foul that bounced in the stands, and Christie just so happened to lean over and snatch it. The governor was sitting in the third row right by the New York dugout.

Christie’s approval ratings have sunk to an all-time low as the governor was recently slammed for enjoying a day at an N.J. beach while it was closed to the public due to a state government shutdown.
