Graphic video: Woman dragged by a hit-and-run driver

Surveillance video released by the New York Police Department this week shows the devastating moment a driver ran over a woman in Staten Island.

Last month, on July 14, the 62-year-old victim was struck by a black Honda Accord at around 8:00 a.m. as she crossed Clove Road near Woodlawn Avenue in the Grasmere section of the borough, police announced Tuesday.

The video released to the public shows the victim’s body smacking the ground, forcefully knocking her blue umbrella from her grip.

The vehicle can then be seen driving over the woman, dragging her, and leaving her to die in the street.

Emergency responders rushed the victim to Staten Island University Hospital in serious, but stable condition, authorities said.
