Greta Van Susteren slammed CNN Wednesday night after the “fake news network” marked its reporting of Senator John McCain’s brain cancer diagnosis with the “exclusive” tag.

The former Fox News and MSNBC personality took to Twitter to voice her distaste, saying, “CNN is so tasteless. .. Why does CNN need to brag [that] its report about Senator McCain’s cancer is ‘exclusive’ – really need to do that now?”

After the news broke Wednesday night, CNN apparently garnered exclusive access for Dr. Sanjay Gupta to interview McCain’s doctors.

It was previously believed that the mass above McCain’s left eye was a blood clot, but further discovery during surgery found it to be a tumor. The Senate had delayed the vote on the healthcare bill due to McCain’s absence.

Greta, often the butt of Trump’s tweets, announced in late June that she was out at MSNBC after contract issues led the left wing media company to let her go. She was an experienced host, having worked at all three major networks. In appreciation, Eric Trump wished her the best.

Greta defended her statements Wednesday night, saying there is a difference between “breaking news” and “exclusive news,” and that the network was “letting the American people down.”
