The newest liberal comedian in hot water this week is Bill Maher after he said the N-word in an interview with Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse on his late night HBO show Real Time.  (see video here)

HBO now faces a serious decision of whether or not to fire Maher, after he responded to an invitation from Sen. Sasse to come to Nebraska and “work in the fields with us” by saying, “Work in the fields? Senator, I’m a house n*ger.”

The audience, used to the proclivity of the comedian to push the limits, begrudgingly laughed with a groan. Sasse kept quiet as Maher clarified, “No it’s a joke.”

Black lives matter activist DeRay McKesson took to twitter to show his outrage at the comedian’s cavalier use of such a hurtful word, and the audience’s reaction to it:

Our own DML tweeted to HBO with the hashtag #fireMayer.

African-American political commentator Giano Caldwell, who often appeared as a guest on DML’s Newsmax program, ‘Unfiltered’, tweeted out on Saturday that he will not accept an invite to Maher’s program:

Sasse revealed his thoughts on the matter after deep reflection on his flight home:

If Maher were to be fired by HBO he would be the second comedian sacked by a major TV network after Kathy Griffin was let go by CNN earlier this week.
