ILLINOIS — A hidden camera was found inside the women’s bathroom at a Walgreens store, according to police reports.

The store manager discovered the recording device on Friday of last week. It had been plugged into what appeared to be an electrical outlet and stuck to the wall with Velcro. It hung about one-and-a-half feet off the ground, directly in front of a toilet inside the restroom’s stall.

Officials said the manager at the store only realized it was a fake outlet when the gadget fell to the floor.

The store is located in Des Plaines at 1858 E Oakton Street. Des Plaines is a suburb of Chicago.

The camera had been recording for nearly two days and appeared to be motion activated. It also had sound capabilities and contained a small memory card, police said.

A spokesperson for Walgreens referred inquiries to law enforcement and said the chain had no comment.

An investigation is currently underway.
