Two high school students appeared happy and all smiles as they took photos of themselves together and posted the photo updates to their Facebook pages Monday evening.
The next day, they were found dead in a car, in what authorities are suspecting was a double suicide.
The young couple had been dating since April 2016, and attended Williamsport Area High School in Pennsylvania. Brenden Shipman, 16, was a junior, and Annika Monique was a senior.
Monday evening, around 8-9pm, the two uploaded final photos of themselves on their Facebook pages, embracing and smiling and appearing happy to be together.
When the two failed to show up for school on Tuesday, relatives and police began searching and made the devastating discovery, finding Shipman and Monique both shot dead inside a car at Rose Valley Lake near a boat ramp, about 80 miles north of Harrisburg.
A handgun was found at the scene, but investigators and family don’t know why the couple decided to end their lives.
Friends from school say everyone there who knew them are devastated and heartbroken.
