When the Greenwood High School football team in Midland, Texas charged onto the field to begin their game, they carried a united message against the “take a knee” movement among the NFL.

Each Rangers player held in his hand an American flag, creating a patriotic display that has touched the nation.

Pete Christy of KCBD News posted a video of the incident on Thursday, November 10, that has now gone viral with almost 2 million views.

The team’s head coach, Chad Hanna, said the team has been starting their games this way since the middle of the season, when one of the players suggested it.

“We are a community here,” said Hanna. “This was a great way to show our support for our country, for the men that have made the sacrifice serving that flag.”
